Birdathon

A fun, friendly competition that raises money for bird conservation in Arkansas.

Teams compete to find the most significant number of bird species in 24 hours on any day from April 29- May 21, 2023. Select your date. Sets species and fundraising goals. Then collect pledges and donations from friends, family, and community members. Donors can pledge per bird or make an upfront contribution.

The Birdathon is competitive, with prizes for Most Species-Field Team, Most Species-Backyard Team, and Most Money Raised.

These two team categories are available to allow everyone to participate in a safe and comfortable way for you. Mark your category on your registration form.

  • Field Birdathon team - two to five participants, bird anywhere in the state, $250/fundraising minimum
  • Backyard Birdathon team - an individual or household, bird from your property, $100 fundraising minimum

On Wednesday, May 24, all teams are invited to join us at the virtual Bird Bash from 7-8 pm, where you will share about your Birdathon experience, and prizes will be announced.

The team registration deadline is April 15. To register, submit the form via email or mail to the Little Rock Audubon Center, 4500 Springer Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72206.

  • Full registration packet can be downloaded here
  • Individual forms (Team Registration Form, Birdathon Rules, Pledge Tracker, etc.) can also be downloaded below.

Each individual team member will receive a BirdAR t-shirt and a 'Volunteer Bird Survey' car magnet. Each registered team will have its own Birdathon Team Profile and Donation page to make fundraising easier.
