Teams of 2-5 compete to find the greatest number of bird species in 24 hours during BirdLR on May 9, 2020. The team sets a fundraising goal as well as a goal for how many species of bird they hope to see. Then the team collects pledges and donations from friends, family, and community members. Donors can pledge per bird or just make a contribution to the team.
The Birdathon is usually competitive, but the rules have been relaxed this year. To ensure the safety and comfort of all, teams are social distancing, traveling with household members, and birding in areas where they feel comfortable and safe.
On Sunday May 17, all teams are invited to join us at the virtual Bird Bash at 5pm where teams will share about their BirdLR experience.
Please note, in the event of severe weather the Birdathon rain date will be Saturday May 16. Save the date, just in case.
Team registration deadline is March 15. To register, teams must submit the team registration form via email or via mail/in-person to the Little Rock Audubon Center (4500 Springer Blvd., Little Rock, AR 72206).
- Full registration packet can be downloaded here.
- Individual forms (Team Registration Form, Birdathon Rules, Pledge Tracker, etc.) can also be downloaded below.
Each registered team will have their own Birdathon Team Profile and Donation page to make fundraising easier. To get an idea of what your Team Profile might look like, take a look at our Sample Birdathon Team Profile.
