Dr. Dan Scheiman, Plants for Birds Program Manager
Dr. Dan "The Bird Man" Scheiman has a B.S. from Cornell University, M.S. from Eastern Illinois University, and Ph.D. from Purdue University. Dan's formative birding years and graduate research were supported by Audubon Chapters. He and his coworkers advocate for birds, restore wildlife habitat, promote the use of native plants, and help people improve their local environments. He has been birding for 35 years. Since moving to Arkansas in 2005 to work for Audubon he has seen 369 of the 424 bird species documented in the state. His house in Little Rock features an all-Arkansas native plant yard.
