eBird is an online personal checklist and citizen science program that has revolutionized the way the birding community reports and accesses information about birds. This workshop will teach you what eBird is and how to use it, including entering a checklist and using the many tools available for finding birds and birding hotspots. We'll start with a bird walk to create a checklist and learn about counting birds. Then Dr. Dan the Bird Man Scheiman will walk you through the steps of using the program. There is an eBird app for entering checklists only, so you will need a device (laptop, tablet, iPad) for accessing the internet (you'll have wifi access) to use all the features available at eBird.org. Audubon will have a few extra devices available.
$15/person (card, cash or check payable to "Audubon Arkansas")
What to Bring:
Your own device to access eBird (laptop, tablet; some extras available). You will need a bigger screen than a smartphone.
Binoculars if you own them (extras will be provided).
