"Your yard - and the kinds of plants in it - matters more than you may know."

Start taking steps to make your yard more bird-friendly by attending our first Bird-Friendly Yard Workshop! Participants will learn more about what features should be incorporated into a bird-friendly yard, how to utilize local resources, and how to gain Bird-Friendly Yard Certification through the Arkansas Audubon Society. 

Participants will attend sessions on: 

  1. Backyard Hazards to Birds- Presented by Allan Mueller (Retired USFWS, Arkansas Audubon Society)
  2. Citizen Science- Presented by Dr. Dan Scheiman (Audubon Arkansas)
  3. Native Plant Landscaping- Presented by Jane Gulley (Master Gardener, Audubon Society of Central Arkansas)
  4. Invasive Plants- Presented by Randy Forst (Pulaski County Extension Agent, University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service)

Lunch presentation by Wild Birds Unlimited!

Cost: $30/person (lunch & materials included). Due at the start of the workshop with cash/card/check.
