Farmers learn about native warm season grass production.

Audubon’s NATIVE (Native Agriculture to InVigorate Ecosystems) Project offers a new cash crop for qualified farmers in the Delta of Arkansas and Mississippi that will diversify income while contributing to wildlife habitat.  Farmers will grow native warm season grasses for seed production and sale.  NATIVE will provide technical assistance, starter seed, and annual incentive payments to cover site prep and planting expenses. Participating farmers will also get free, personal farm conservation and financial planning services.

Visit NativeGrass.org for more information on the NATIVE Project, native warm season grasses, grass seed production, and farm conservation programs through the USDA.
